Our Story

Breaking Cycles. Building Lives. Changing Generations.

The Marshon Foundation empowers youth and adults to develop the mindset, discipline, and life skills needed to build productive, purpose-driven lives and create lasting change within their communities.

Our Origin

Our Origin Story

The Marshon Foundation was founded by Richard L. Rice Jr. out of a personal understanding of the challenges that many youth and adults face when navigating adversity, poor choices, limited opportunities, and involvement with the justice system.

After experiencing firsthand the consequences of decisions that led to incarceration, Richard made a commitment to transform his life through personal accountability, education, faith, discipline, and service. What began as a personal journey of transformation evolved into a larger mission: helping others avoid the same mistakes and build productive, purpose-driven lives.

Recognizing the need for practical life skills, mentorship, leadership development, and positive support systems, Richard established the Marshon Foundation to serve youth and adults who are seeking a better path.

Today, the Marshon Foundation works to break cycles of incarceration, strengthen communities, and empower individuals to realize their full potential through education, mentorship, personal development, and opportunity.
